When one talks about domain names, one could not help but wonder what these domain names are all about. While people’s cognizance about domain names is very minimal and small, it is practically useful to let people who own a site that they have knowledge about domain naming. This is so, because domain names, just like your site contents and design, play a significant role in pushing the traffic on your site. Therefore, it is important that as a site owner, you choose the perfect domain name for your site. The qualities of a good domain name may vary from one site owner to the other, but generally, the written things below help identify the good qualities of a domain name. 

 

• A good domain name should not portray complexity on it in terms of wordings. The more simple words that you employ on your domain name the better because it fosters easy remembrance of the name. The easier the domain name to be remembered that more chances it gets to be visited. 

 

• A good domain name is something that is shorter. A shorter domain name is a good domain name because it becomes easier to be indexed by the search engines and is easily captured by the search terms used by most net users. 

 

• A good domain name is something that is competitive with the well established domain names. This means that you have the air of being correlated with other established sites but not exactly similar with the established ones. 

 

• A good domain name is a name that contains important keywords on it. Keywords are search engine’s element for ranking. If the domain name spells out good keywords on it, then it is mot likely going to earn good ranking from search engines, therefore, with net users, too.
