The Central Institute of Indian languages (CIIL) (Manasa gangotri, Mysore 570006) offers a ten-moth training programme for teachers in 15 scheduled languages at its seven regional centres.
1. Southern Regional Centre CIIL (Manasa gangotri, Mysore 870008) – Kannada Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu
2. Eastern Regional Centre CIIL, (Bhubaneswar 751008) Assamese, Bengali, and Oriya
3. Western Regional Centre, CIIL (Deccan college) Pune 411008) – Gujarati, Marathi, and Sindhi
4. Northern Regional Centre, CIIL, (Punjabi university campus, Patiala 147002) – Kashmir, Punjabi and urdu
5. Urdu teaching and research centre CIIL, (lucknow 226001) urdu
6. North Eastern regional Language Centre, CIIL, (Guwahati 781006) – Manipuri and Nepali.
Eligibility: working graduate teachers with three years of teaching experience in secondary or higher secondary school or intermediate (10+2) passed teachers working in middle schools with five years of experience. Age not over 45 years. Candidate should not have any previous knowledge in the languages applied for. Emoluments: Rs.800.00 per month in addition to the salary as the last pay certificate.
